Barbara Schey

Fibre artist

A member of the NSCG since 1988, Barbara is very experienced in a range of textile techniques. She has attended numerous classes, both residential and non-residential with top spinners, weavers, dyers and designers from all over the world.

Barbara has been the recipient of several grants from the Craft Board of the Australia Council, which have enabled her to research differing methods of textile dyeing and construction, and she is continuously expanding her knowledge with research and overseas travel.

Barbara taught in the TAFE system for many years, and has given numerous residential and weekend workshops all over Australia.

She has exhibited in several group and solo exhibitions and has won numerous prizes and awards.
