Mignon grew up in a family of four sisters. Her mother taught the daughters sewing and knitting, and knitting was a passion for Mignon. She succeeded in making her first jumper before her teens. The four sisters also created a variety of clothing; Mignon continued to learn sewing at high school.
In 1982 she completed a Designer Knitting Course and also studied spinning and weaving. She enrolled at Baulkham Hills TAFE inn 1991 for the 4-year Advanced Commercial Needlecraft Certificate. Mignon then taught Needlework to students locally for two years.
Since then, some of her work has been exhibited at Castle Hill Show and she has won Grand Champion and two First prizes in knitting; one First prize in Tapestry and Patchwork.
Having made several quilts for her children and grandchildren, she has now become interested in experimenting with colour and design in patchwork and quilting.
Mignon joined the NSCG in 2007. To email Mignon click here: [email protected]
