Sylvia Riley
Textiles

Sylvia Riley is a designer and resist dyer, specialising in shibori, batik, direct leaf printing and painting on silk.

She starts with white fabric,
dyes, designs, pattern-makes and produces garments and accessories. Only the
finest quality natural fabrics are selected for dyeing, predominantly fine merino and silk.

Sylvia draws inspiration from the Australian bush, and is particularly attracted to Australian wildflowers which frequently feature in her hand painted designs.  She is passionate about the dyeing process and likes to
mix it up, frequently combining techniques to create new and exciting effects.
