Elaine has worked with glass for more than 30 years, having studied for five years at the National Art School, East Sydney, majoring in fashion design.
Her life as an artist has many facets, a career in advertising, and studies in pottery, drawing, painting and jewellery design.
Elaine"s kaleidoscopes explode with colour and are great fun to design. Some of her three dimensional pieces feature specimens of our wonderful native flora - her favourite, the Flannel Flower, varies in form as if still in the state of evolution - captured in glass. .Lately, designing quirky little birds to incorporate in jewellery and box designs. Some are free standing some have feathered tails - all have attitude.
Elaine enjoys challenging the medium. The colours and vibrancy of glass offer great possibilities - fusing colour to create new colours and textures, acid etching, painting, copper foiling and kiln work, devising new ways to achieve her aims - the challenge is exciting and endless.
