My enjoyment of woodworking was fostered by both my grandfather who was a builder and my father who appreciated working with wood. As a teenager I refurbished and built quite a number of dinghies which I sailed.
We have a small rural property north of Goulburn where we grow Radiata Pine.
In my spare time at the farm I love to use the abundant quantities of salvageable burls, stumps and roots which are available. I particularly enjoy working with mountain ash burls which have fantastically contorted grain and when finished with a wax polish I use, come up brilliantly. Stumps and roots are also good because of their sculptural shapes.
I have exhibited with Artists and Craftsmen of Pittwater (ACOP) for a number of years and in March 2019 exhibited at Creative Space at Curl Curl.
