Trudy Billingsley
Trudy joined the NSCG in 1988. Her love of the Australian landscape’s brilliant colours and the character of its people has been a very strong influence on her working style. Her work is developed from cartoon drawing with fabric individually selected for each element.
After cutting out each piece of fabric, the work is viewed and considered for several days before assembly. Trudy enjoys using found and collected objects, memorabilia, documents, stamps, buttons etc to embellish the surface texture of her work. Trudy has in the past, worked on commissions for both public and private collections and has exhibited her textile wall quilts and wearable art in both solo and group exhibitions in Australia, Spain and New Zealand. She has conducted numerous workshops on designing from landscapes; wearable art; and fashion accessories. To email Trudy click here: [email protected] |
